Karachi–Lahore Motorway

The Karachi–Lahore Motorway sometimes referred to as "KLM", is a 1,152 km high-speed, access-controlled, 6-lane motorway under construction in Pakistan and scheduled to be completed by September 2017. The motorway will facilitate transit between Karachi and other cities including Hyderabad, Matiari, Tando Adam, Shahdadpur, Nawabshah, Khairpur, Sukkur, Pano Aqil, Ghotki, Abaro, Sadiqabad, Rahim yar Khan, Zahir Pir, Jalalpur Pirwala, Multan, Khanewal, Abdul Hakim, Pir Mahal, Samundri, Jaranwala and Nankana Sahib. The KLM is distinct from the existing N-5 National Highway. The project is part of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Once the motorway is completed, Karachi will be linked to Multan, Faisalabad, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Gilgit Baltistan, Azad Kashmir directly though 6-lane high speed, access-controlled road network. The motorway will also link to the 6-lane Hazara Motorway, stretching from Islamabad/ RawalPindi to Mansehra. The road will be linked to the high-speed Karakoram Highway (KKH), partly under construction.

For the purpose of implementation, KLM is divided into four sections:
* M9 motorway |Karachi–Hyderabad Motorway, 136 km
Under Construction

Complete in 2.5 years
* Hyderabad–Sukkur Motorway, 296 km
* Sukkur–Multan Motorway, 387 km
* Multan–Lahore Motorway, 333 km
The Multan-Lahore Motorway is divided
into the following two sections:
* Multan–Khanewal, 57 km
Opened for traffic since
21st november 2015

* Abdul Hakim –Lahore, 229 km
